Hurt So Bad (Linda Ronstadt cover)

I always wanted to hear this Linda Ronstadt song covered by Garbage.
There's a bit of a segue from another cover at the beginning -- "Hello Stranger" by Yvonne Elliman. I recorded two cover albums last year -- one in English, the other in Japanese. I don't know what to do with either of them yet.

Ah ha ha, this rules ok.
I like the stark contrast between verse and chorus, which is something I've been thinking about a lot lately.
Drums sound particularly cool.

I use Reason and Cakewalk SONAR. The drums are a pair of Dr.Rex hip-hop loops put through Scream. I'm not too much of a Garbage listener, so I just downloaded "Queer", got a sense of the basics and went from there.
Actually, the whole basis of my English-language cover album was, "What would (Song X) sound like it were covered by (Band Y)?", such as Janet Jackson as played by Power Station and Roberta Flack as played by Explosions in the Sky.

This is wonderful, by the way. Really good. It doesn't have the same production quality as Garbage, but it doesn't have to. If anything that makes it better.
What did you use for sequencing/mixing?
