Very cool. Nice effects and the synth melodies are great.

Maybe it's my crappy laptop speakers but the treble seems a bit high all around?

thanks everyone. :)

ropeladder, i agree, it was one thing i was considering tweaking in the mixdown (eq'ing the treble down a bit), thanks for the tip :)

I was really skeptical about this. Seemed like an odd idea, and not an easy song to cover well.

Of course, it was easy to forget the skepticism by the time my fist was pumping at the end. Nice trick, that. Thanks.

Wow, this is pretty great. I like the way you've taken the iconic accordian riff and totally turned it sideways, but it's somehow still recognizable.

The chorus reminds me a little of a great little (defunct) band called Oppenheimer -- check this song, maybe -- so that pleases me as well.

The way you've done the intro is really sweet. It's robotical but there's some melancholy soul in there too.

koeselitz, thanks!! i'm glad you enjoyed!

karlos, thanks for the welcome! i'm liking it here so far! oppenheimer sounds very cool, i like their sound, gonna have to check out more of their stuff, unfortunate that they're defunct. i'm glad the robotic-ness didn't destroy any emotion to it — i knew there was a danger of it and i didn't wanna destroy a paul simon masterpiece. (of course it is a delicious irony to make a cover of this song using computers and synthesizers. but hey, don't cry, right? =])

paul simon is awesome, i just pay tribute to him.

Nice job on this. You made it your own. This totally works, both musically, and in terms of keeping with the theme of the lyrics.

Ha. Ha! Vocoding Paul Simon works better than I would have guessed. Welcome to Music indeed.
