I Knew It All Along

In at the last minute for June's MeFiMu challenge. Loud autoharp pop.

This is the first original song I've finished in almost a year, which is totally pathetic.

I started writing it last year as I was recovering from an emergency appentectomy and a subsequent bout of C. Diff, and comforting myself by watching lots of British Invasion stuff on YouTube -- Freddie and the Dreamers, The Honeycombs, stuff like that. This song was supposed to be like one of those songs (the title is kiped from Dave Clark Five's "I Knew it All the Time"), but I doubt it turned out that way.

It was also intended to be very quick 'n' dirty to record, but that idea almost never actually works out for me. It got bogged down and abandoned for a few months, and then when this month's challenge rolled around, I thought it would be a good time to take another swipe at it. I finished it -- well, close enough-- today, so here it is.

Just out of curiousity, for people far East enough that it's now July, does this song still show up as one of the June challenges on this page?

Yup!

And yes, it sounds very Britshy Invasiony to me! Fun!
