Kitten (in my robot purse) cover

May 29, 2014 10:24 PM

Coming late to this great mefimusic challenge. So many I still want to cover, but here's my noir version of umbú's excellent Kitten (in my robot purse), a song that packs way more adorable and awesome into less than three minutes than should feasibly fit. Hope I'm doing it justice.

I learned this late last nite and recorded it all this morning. Just about 24 hours from concept to finish. Kinda working with my second string instruments, so the bass and guitar are a little ragged, but I'm pretty happy with how it came out.

I've been trying to beef up the main vox. If anyone has some suggestions, i'm open. I put some low cut delay on it, but cranking it up anymore was making it sound too "recorded inside a tube."

Can't wait to do another mefite cover.

Hell yeah. What a thrill to hear such a great cover of that old song! Thanks so much for remembering it.

You made the song your own (es_de-bah-eyzed it?). I love how you did the background vocals, the whoah-oh-oh-oh, and the mott the hooplish guitar solo at the end.

Oh man that's great. Super slinky at the beginning. Love it.
