10 Seconds of Static

January 29, 2015 2:58 PM

Lot's of interesting things you can do with static. For the January Challenge.

Everything in this song is some form of the 10 second static sample at the beginning, drums included. The drums, bass, and melody bits are static with a bunch of eq and pitch warping/shifting. The guitar thingy and the arpeggiated bit at the end are a saw/square wave that uses the static sample as a distortion pattern. Static static static. Static. Static? Static.

Protein?

Also, WTF is this deviltry that you and advil are using to create music from noise?! I must needs cause strings to vibrate to generate my lowly euphony, but you two produce wondrous tones from the ether. Deviltry is the only explanation.

Wow! Very impressive. I'm especially blown away by the snare drum sound you created. How in the what?!

Johnny Wallflower, I think that's my favorite comment anyone's ever made about my music.

This is so cool. When the apocalypse comes and all we have to make music out of are rusty nails and scrap plastic, I want to be on your team.
