Song #10 in Unu Kanto Po Semajno was an attempt to create some soothing ambient music, like blips and bleeps you'd hear on SomaFM's Space Station channel. However, It came out a twisted mutant, as you will discover. Wellpp, keep MeFi weird! Go ahead... press play, close your eyes and relaaaax.....

This was a great thing to hear while drinking a strong latte!

Do you have lyrics? The mystery of the pitch-shifted vocal calls to me!

Do you have lyrics? The mystery of the pitch-shifted vocal calls to me!

It is a mystery! It's a section from this track, Toch Yum, by the Sam-Ang Sam Ensemble, played backward and bent a few semitones lower through the pitch-shifter on the Garageband pedalboard, so that it didn't sound dissonant compared to the slide guitar and ringtone bass.

So if you play it backwards, it may tell you to brush your teeth or something religious, but you won't be able to tell what it says unless you speak maybe Hmong?

Delicious sound soup.

I don't speak hmong but some of my high school students from a while back do. They told me that there is a swear word that sounds enough like the word pineapple that they giggle whenever they hear anyone say pineapple.
