to dream

late night meeting with a street musician, near saint anne, in Montpellier. Lots of things to say, many songs in his bag, mostly sharing the same chords (!?). Nice feeling.

An impressive songwriter (hundreds he was carrying with him), he wasn't an excellent guitar player but managed to provide an acompaniment for each one. And he was from vesoul.

I have to max out the volume on my laptop just to hear it.

But it's really cool.

It is really nice. And whatever you recorded it with, it's perfect, the guitar sounds very good and the voice is perfectly separated. Thx for posting this, nicolin I really enjoyed it.

What do you use for your field recordings, nicolin? It's a pretty clean recording for walking around with something in your pocket.

it's only a minidisc : sharp md-mt190. What's great is that it includes a microphone input and Rec level.
It sounds real nice but it applies some sort of compression to the recording. I think the latest Sony can record directly to disc without that kind of compression. Unfortunately, I just bought a clarinet on Ebay. Minidiscs I can't afford anymore.
The microphone itself is just a lapel microphone, really cheap. I think that's this one.

Go figure! Simple stuff used well is the way to go. I suppose I should just upgrade from the garage-sale giveaway microcassette.
