All I Believe

A cover some friends and I will be performing at a cabaret here in New York in a couple weeks.

Written by my aunt, Kristi Rose, and her former bandmate Chris Christos, this song appeared on their 1986 album (as Kristi Rose and the Midnight Walkers) Some People from Rounder Records. If there are any completists who care, it also appeared on her 2002 album Kristi Rose Live in Holland.

The quality of this MP3 is pretty poor, as is the fact that we're missing a D minor chord (and another one I can't remember) on the phrase "point of view." Warts and all, folks.

I'm not sure what genre this is, exactly, particularly since we don't have the drums of the original. Rock n' roll? Rockabilly? Blues? What do you think?

Um, or maybe it's just on the 1986 album. (Can't very well call myself a completist now, can I)

After reading your askme I decided to come check this out, not bad stuff. You've got a pretty good soulful voice but I feel like you're holding it back a little. And don't worry about trying to find your genre, you'll figure that out eventually. Ror what it's worth this definetely isn't rockabilly, I consider rockabilliy to be more Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis (pre country) type of stuff, this is pretty bluesy and everything with soul has a little rock and roll.
