Thanks. I've taken a few runs at this one and it never seems to want to budge for me. I hear it now as something that connotes a chase - the potential additions I hear for it at this point are all instrumental. I'd really like to hear what you're hearing!

Nice. My favourite part is during the first part of each "verse" you go down to that sort of 7th minor or whatever it is (the first occurrence is around the :18 mark.) That's a nice change.
I keep intending to teach myself clawhammer but it seems so daunting. Easy in the theory aspect of the technique, but difficult in execution unless you practice practice practice forever.
Maybe this summer.

You and that guitar are really singing together. It sounds great, and yes, that sucker really rings true.
I've been trying to learn clawhammer for a while now and I'm not really sure why you're calling this false. I don't mean to be silly, but what would you consider to be true clawhammer?
Good show, anyway. This sounds great.

Thanks much for the comments.
chococat: that chord (open position from low E) is F (w/ thumb) - muted - Eb- A-C- muted.
snsranch: I double-checked Wikipedia after I read your note and according to that entry what I'm doing here on guitar is clawhammer. But I have a good friend (it's his Gibson) who plays clawhammer banjo very well and I tried to learn his technique many times and I have always had to cheat one little 'pop' that I have never quite been able to get. That's why I have always considered this not-quite-clawhammer.

Love this. Really great guitar playing! And a neat song, too.

Nice work! I checked this out because your positive comment on a recent post of mine, and I take it as huge compliment after hearing this. I've not spent much time in Mefi Music but will definitely have to change that.
