Welcome to Teen Island (Season One). We here at MTV started this reality show with the best of intentions. But things have gone horribly, horribly wrong.

Yeah, the distortion's intentional. But man, nothing should be listened to on laptop speakers. Headphones? :)

Now, that's an interesting discussion right there. Cause, fact is, lots of stuff gets listened to on laptop speakers. I don't think that how your music is going to sound on a laptop is something one should ignore or discount. In the same way engineers used to make mixes that would work both on a big fat home stereo and in a thin car radio (and in mono, as well, let's not forget), we musicians of today ignore the laptop speaker listening public at our peril!

Good points and duly noted! I have no idea how to make droning, densely-layered stuff work on laptop speakers, though (not that this is even very dense). Especially when 1) the bass is important and 2) there aren't any drums or clear melodies to give you bearing. It is meant to be like an ocean with different subtle things and changes going on that you can pick out through the repetitions. Which, to me, is different than making a hip-hop, dance or rock track. So maybe it just fails entirely on the level of the cheap boombox or whatever, by design.
Or you could be right and I'm just making excuses, which is probably more likely, heh.

I like the lapping waves rhythmic quality. I must say, it is distorting heavily on my laptop speakers. is that your intention, for this to be heavily distorted?
