Bring Me Sunshine

September 11, 2011 3:13 PM

Quick lo-fi recording of the Morecambe and Wise classic closing song, introduced in about as near to a music-hall style as I can manage. Featuring me, my uke, and a whistling verse. (Twice.) Video is here.

The Morecambe and Wise show was a classic part of my parents' life, and thanks to endless repeats at Christmas it's part of mine too. This was the song they always closed their show with - it's a lovely number, upbeat and cheery. Eric and Ernie always sang it in unison, so that's what I've tried to emulate here (which should explain the slightly strange double-tracked sound).

As a lifetime fan of Morecambe and Wise (my dad looked EXACTLY like Eric Morecambe) I favorites this so hard I broke my keyboard. Twice. The video is fantastic. You rule.
