If you can imagine smooth post-rock and psych-rock crossed and infused with a shoegaze element, this is likely what you would hear. Sounds of Sputnik

Sounds to me like a heavier version of The Beta Band! Which is good, Beta Band always good.

The song screams for some vocals. Not perhaps screaming ones, more mellow, a la Beta Band (who would've guessed that I'd recommend that!).

The switch in the song at 1:10 gives it the whole post-rock feel, in my opinion. And from there it sounds more and more like post-rock.

Lacking the vocals, this song is very similar to most post-rock with a dash of drawn out shoegaze sound. Can't say much more than it needs the vocals, in my opinion.

Thanks for your feedback. Female vocals are in the works indeed. I also agree that it shifts from shoegaze to postrock mode at that mark, but that's what we were after. We thought it combined well and didn't know of any other band (likely they are out there - we're just not aware of them) that produces interesting music straddling the border of these two (non-mainstream) genres.
Stay tuned - a few more to come :)

I also don't know The Beta Band, so I've made my very own discovery here thanks to you. Kudos!
