it's the same idea

Wrote and recorded this a couple of years ago. This is where I left it, a couple of notches or more away from perfect... but it's got some good things about it, including a really messed up (in a good way) guitar solo.
why when i say 7 or 3
should it be deemed poetry?
why when a painting gets in a frame
does the painter gain a name?
it's the same idea, it's the same idea
it's the same idea, it's the same idea
why when the notes are played by the poor
does it come from the heart so much more?
why when a story goes really long
is the writing thought to be strong?
it's the same idea, it's the same idea
it's the same idea, it's the same idea
why when the artist works in the street
does it mean nothing to the elite?
why when a film is set in the past
do we think its impact will last?
it's the same idea, it's the same idea
it's the same idea, it's the same idea
it's the same idea, it's the same idea
it's the same idea, it's the same idea
