Orca jam with an OP-Z.

The main melody/bass line is rewritten randomly, with notes chosen from a pentatonic scale. The note, octave and position in the melody are chosen from a non-uniform distribution, with a new note (or silence) being inserted with about a 1/16 probability with each step in the tracker. I cross-posted to YouTube where you can watch the program running. More on Orca on the Blue.

I found the whole thing to be pleasant. It had a real Businessfunk feel. I wonder if the variation was the key to keeping it feeling fun or if I would have had the same experience if the bass line was fixed throughout. Either way, it's a nice piece!
