frogs jamming in a swamp

February 14, 2022 6:51 AM

I heard a vocal sample and imagined three little frogs were singing it and so I had a little fun.

I normally don't use as many samples, but I like the result. Things are little unbalanced and I think the bass gets totally lost? oh well!

I keep coming back to listen to this! Do I understand correctly that you found the vocals (somewhere) and crafted the instrumental accompaniment around them?

Thank you!

I subscribe to a library of samples for electronic artists where I found all the samples I used. I found the vocals first, those and steel guitar are basically untouched samples, and trumpet parts are samples I had to tweak to fit key and tempo etc found those after I did everything else in the song. The drums I made out of "one shots", and the bass line is a stock upright bass VST I played on my Casio.

I usually do less samples and more composing but I can't argue with how it turned out and how fun it is. I'm glad you like it, that makes me really pleased!
