Chivalry
The second recording of my first visit to my school's media center. It's a song idea that I've been toying with for a long, long time. It's in 7/4... if you like that sort of thing.
Knives Come Out (God Damn Radio)
This is the part where we start to fall apart (watch your goddamn radio).
Face The Music (Tony Danza)
I forget why Tony Danza was in this song title, but man have you ever seen that guy naked? This is another rockist song from my old band New Blind Nationals. It's got the three guitar attack but with a pulsing disco bass line underneath. I'd like to pretend that Franz Ferdinand stole their best ideas from me while I was sleeping.
Inarmed Decision
This is another song my old band. It's mixes ballad with a slight hardcore influence
Score
The heart is a lonely trucker
Constant Contact
one man's case against cuddling
wedding song
Piano-based song written for my wife, for our recent wedding. As usual with my songs, it's slow and sparse. A lot of vocal layering going on, and some electric guitar to round things out in the chorus. Enjoy!
Briscoe
Another Division of Planes song from Trembling Wires, but with a different vibe than Ghost. I think this is the most mellow track on the ep, actually.
Recorded by Scott Norton at Headgear Recording Studios and mastered by TJ Lipple at Silver Sonya.
Ghost
A quick lil' song from my band DIVISION OF PLANES. Recorded by Scott Norton winter of 2006 at Headgear Recording Studios in Brooklyn, NY for our upcoming ep Trembling Wires. Mastered by TJ Lipple at Silver Sonya. Both TJ and Scott did an excellent job.
We got the masters back from TJ last week. I'll post a few more when I can.
The Greatest Days
These are the greatest days, and this is optimism rock from The Forget.
Sister's Gone by Channel 18
Recorded in an airplane hangar in Louisville back in August, we used the built-in mic on my friend's iBook, and Garage Band to do the multitracking. Sounds pretty kickass for how low-tech it was, if you ask me. Just two guys, I played drums, my friend played guitars and bass.
No More Parties, No More Fun
A song by my last band - I played (bad) backup guitar. Recorded live at a show at my college
Trope - We're Not The Cool Kids
A new song from my solo project. The lyrics are about the time a friend betrayed my confidence. So, it's a party song. Get other mp3s at the website.
Montana - Wait
Freebie from their Starsign : Tarantula album. See www.myspace.com/montanamusic
Christmas Is Cancelled (This Year)
Un-seasonal uplifting powerpop from Farrah.
Say Yeah
This is a Red On Strike recording from about 6 years ago, and features a great live intro from Red...
In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
A Neutral Milk Hotel cover, and the first studio recording with my new group. Coming soon to your town!
maroon for red
A song from a couple of years back which is still a favorite of mine. This one has heavier drums and more electric guitars than most of my tracks, but it's still a love song.
sleep fiction
A pretty catchy melody, I think -- starts slow like most of my songs, but then picks up and becomes more of a rock track. Sample lyric: "Sleeping with you is still fiction, so missing it must be a contradiction." Features vocals, guitars, piano, drums, strings.
say goodnight
The city outside your bedroom window doesn't care if you're lonely. I guess this song is about the feeling of hopelessness. Slightly more uptempo than my previously posted songs, this one features slide guitar, non-slide guitars, drums, piano, strings, and guest appearances by Riadsala (bass) and kerry and casio (background vocal).
the long lost light
A slow and sad song I wrote and recorded after a breakup/separation a few years ago. Features a falsetto chorus and acoustic guitar, including an e-bow undercurrent.
already lovers
A quiet, pretty song about online dating. Features guitars, vocals, and pseudo-orchestral touches.
Champagne Jam (Part 2) - Audiosports
This track is part 2 of a 23 minute mega mash up with a steady beat and some obscure samples. When I played this set live, I was happy to see people breakin' to it. Cool! http://www.albertoforero.com

the Hours -- by the Notes and Scratches
A cluttered and messy rock song from our record Uh-Oh. I play guitar and sing in this band (and play the singing saw on this track!).
cassiopeia
kind of an untraditional sea shanty about the end of the world and being thirsty. from my band pocket novel mystery's first full length, 8 days in the life of grace, which will finally be released (now that most of the original lineup has dissolved) on august 29th through our new record label, cloud 13 records.
Fleets
Up until last fall I played guitar in a band here in the D.C. area called Cartel. (Later we changed our name to Cedars because of trademark issues.) This song was from our demo, which was recorded by Jason Caddell of the late, great Dismemberment Plan.
I'm no longer in the band and they trudge on without me. But it was fun while it lasted -- we opened for some pretty cool bands such as Stellstarr*, Giant Drag, Sea Ray and Trash Can Sinatras. In case you're wondering, that's not a keyboard in the song, just my guitar and a pretty odd delay.
Deceiver of Nations
The first protest song I've ever felt compelled to write for my band Pocket Novel Mystery. This is a rough draft, but we'll probably use this one on our next full-length, in one form or another.
criminal
A recent recording of a slow and maybe a little creepy song I wrote a couple of years ago. I'm responsible for all vocals and instruments minus the bass, which was recorded by my Scottish buddy Riadsala.
Disarray
This snappy little track is from my band DIVISION OF PLANES.
