So scody had a medical adventure today, which got me thinking about how awesome scody is and how much I enjoyed hanging out with her and being music dorks in LA last fall, and this is one of the songs I remember really enjoying during our drunken singalongery. [more inside]
Based on a chopped and sliced sample of a heart beating, in this track Millimeters of Mercury (my "stage name") pulls his shields of extreme Auto-Tune down slightly to let you get a little more close and personal.
I've signed up to play at the Latino Roots Festival in Barrio Logan later this month. I'm not on one of the big sponsored stages so it's a no pay gig. This particular song is pretty culturally important so I made sure to keep the intro very much in tact. The rest is pretty much just my interpretation of the original song. Enjoy!

This is an "ambient" song with lots of abuse of delay and reverb, but I made an effort to give it more structure than your typical formless synth-gasm.
