Time
It's been a while but I'm back with an evolving sound (and a changing voice). My new "official" single, "Time," is a midtempo, mysterious, moody alternative rock song with rich vocals. [more inside]
Everything is Fine (Happy Place Pizza Party)
A Rob Ford-inspired tune from the earlier days of Crackgate [more inside]
Black Dog – Unfinished
This is a little something I cooked together earlier this summer for the fun of it. I never finished it, but thought it might be fun to share anyway. [more inside]
womankind
An ode to women featuring guitars, piano, melodica, and lap steel. [more inside]
her name is hope
I wrote this after attending a concert late last year. Just finished (?) the recording. It's kind of a tribute to the musician I saw -- maybe you can guess who it is? Either way, it's a track that features guitars, pianos, fretless bass, vibes, drums, vocals and a lap steel part in the chorus that I'm really satisfied with. [more inside]
run to you (bryan adams cover)
No, seriously. Just for fun, I decided to do this cover song to test out some drum stuff. Thought I'd share this while I work on some new songs...
casanova ruins
I was walking around in the garment district at night on valentine's day years ago, and spotted a beautiful woman walking alone across the street. Even Then
What if Wolverine decided to become a carpenter? [more inside]
Rod Carew
A song about race and baseball.
hungry heart
This is a lazy pseudo-live cover of the Bruce Springsteen song, recorded on a whim a couple of years ago.
Flat Fix
This is a tune from a 1995 release called "Samm Bennett's History of the Last Five Minutes", from the Knitting Factory label. The CD is currently out of print. The guitarist is Hahn Rowe, everything else is me. I've been thinking about re-releasing this and possibly my earlier KF CDs on my own label (Yay! Rights have reverted back to yours truly!) but I've got a bunch of new songs I wanna release first. Thought I'd just throw this one out there into the ether. Anyway, [lyrics inside] and, hope you enjoy...
the long lost light
A slow and sad song I wrote and recorded after a breakup/separation a few years ago. Features a falsetto chorus and acoustic guitar, including an e-bow undercurrent.
