River Town

Tides and lilts, ebbs and flows. Something romantic, yet superfluous permeates 'River Town', with a spacious element opening up for sweepingly dreamy female vocals. At least that's how we see this Ummagma track.

Lyrics:

I can’t hear you
For the rushing of the river bend
Tells a story
And you know that story has no end

Time she passes by
River steadfast in her place
Living monument to those
Who knew her grace

Human nature
Birth and death and love and war
All we’ve brought her then
Just ashes once we’re gone

Whispers to you
Living monument
Living monument

I think I like the description almost as much as the song. Seriously though, I really dug the 2nd half were the vocals take the background it it sort of turns into an instrumental jam. It was unexpected and interesting.
