I Miss The Old Kanye (jhbl.0pn.rmx)
Made this in about 20 minutes. With Casio MT-70 drums, recording of "I Miss The Old Kanye" from the unreleased "The Life of Pablo", and samples of "No Good" from Oneohtrix Point Never's Garden of Delete.
Kiev (Haioka Remix)
When a meeting of cultures occurs in a musical setting, something 'unordinary' may possibly occur. But when this meeting involves two awesome creators, it may even be extraordinary. Here Japan meets Ukraine and Canada, as celebrated Red Bull artist Haioka creates his own version of Ummagma 'Kiev'. Enjoy!
Dirtbag (over-rated)
Super-straightforward take on Brad Sucks's classic song Dirtbag. [more inside]
Illustrated Resonators for Reverbs
I had been looking for an excuse to use a few ableton live effects (namely a resonator on a vocoded vocal track). I figured I'd try it out on this weakerthans song. [more inside]
On The Banks of Sacramento (wubmachine remix)
Whereupon we invite an algorithm to make mincemeat of a rather squalid song and out comes happy accidents. [more inside]
Alls I got are the pictures, the movies; gonna be a big star, never gonna be a big star.

Low (Irradiated Happy House Remix)
[Radioactive] remix of Low, by Juicy J (feat. Young Thug + Nicki Minaj), sequenced with that earwormy single by Envisage Komodos: If you can't get a radio single out of your head, turn it into a happy house track and put Juicy J on it. I used a clean version to make it enjoyable for all. Complete with filter sweeps and a half-time dubstep outro.
@Ummagma 'Kiev' (Haioka Remix)
I think the term remix is a big put off for many people and, if measuring according to the number of remixes out there that are just so standard dance-floor filler, it's understandable why there is such a stigma attached to this word. But there are moments of light shooting through when a producer or gifted musician manage to 'reconstruct' a song rather than just 'remix' it. Likely that's where the term 'rework' has started to become used more and more often.... to set them apart. Whatever you want to call it - here is one such track that differs significantly from the original in all it's stunning rework/remix glory. Kudos to Japanese producer Shintaro Haioka for this gift to Ummagma.
Autumn µ-cid Dub
"Just watch me": noisy & dubby
Reckless (Bobby Green Remix)
This is a remix of a track by Julia Lauren. Julia is an amazing singer I met in NYC that has a killer vibe and a killer voice to match. "Reckless" is a track from her EP "Pillow Talk," and as soon as I heard it I knew I wanted to retell its story with my own sound. The track has so much energy and excitement that I really wanted to elevate it and share it with a different kind of audience. Hope you dig it! [more inside]
Line of Life (Ummagma Remix)
When you conceive of how many tracks go into creating a song and visualize them, row upon row stacked upon one another on the computer screen of the producer's studio, it's mind boggling how it could ever come together in perfect symmetry, especially if the tracks are not laid down at the same time. This is the story of one remix. This is Huge Shark 'Line of Life (Ummagma Remix)'. Trans-continental electro dreamscape. [more inside]
Beautiful Micro Disco
Well, what you've really got here is 'Beautiful Moment' by Ummagma, which is a lofi acoustic/electronic blend with passionate and melodic male vocals and also 'Micro Macro', which begins in neo-ethno-folk territory but ends up with a burst of indietronica. To boot, here is Ummagma 'Lama (Irregular Disco Workers Remix)' to really throw a wrench in this acoustic lofi approach to making music :)
Make You Feel That Way
Blackalicious remix. Video.
Lama (Mind Movies Remix)
So much music, so little time. Even in the mind of the remixer, likely that expression would sound something like "So many remix options, so little time"… which is why we're lucky there are so many different great remixers in this world (yes, there certainly are a lot of terrible ones too)… But here we have a wonderful remix by Brazil's Mind Movies of Ummagma's track 'Lama'. Certainly do hope you will enjoy this vision too.
Colors
Dream dripping floating melting flying… All of these are feelings that might come to mind if you close your eyes while listening to this current track. Somewhere between the mellowest of Pink Floyd and the catchiest bit of Billy Bragg, I hope you'll enjoy Ummagma 'Colors'. [more inside]
Lama (Ian Baird Remix)
Words can only be twisted so many ways, but the same words can sound to a host of melodies. That's what happens when you dabble in the world of remixes too, such as this one by Ummagma. Really impressed with the transformation from the original track. [more inside]
Kiev (mashup)
Dream pop meets hip hop full on, and the mesh essentially delivers what feels like a natural sound, as if that is how it was intended to be all along. This track is somewhat on the dark side, accentuated by both the underlying music and vocals, hear's an earbite for you, care of Canadian-Ukrainian duo Ummagma & Canadian rapper Drake. [more inside]
River Town (Mind Movies Remix)
The vocals from the original version of River Town are scaled back and quite a few new dynamics added, but this remix embodies the same dreaminess as the source version nevertheless. This is virtually a rework more than a remix in any case.
Lama (Jane Woodman Remix)
When a musician, who has self-recorded and mixed everything (brilliant) he (she) has ever put out, eventually takes to creating a remix, the output can be somewhat spectacular. That is what happened when San Francisco shoegaze darkwave wonderkind Jane Woodman jumped into her very first remix for Ummagma 'Lama'. Hope you enjoy the output.
Lama (SOS Remix)
When you dig the original of a song so much that you can't imagine how anybody could possibly ever dissect it and re-embody it in an alternate format, sometimes you are pleasantly surprised when indeed someone comes along who capably does just that - with flair, good taste and a handful of cards up their sleeve, dealt ever so cleverly within the remix they have created. That's what we're talking about with this Sounds of Sputnik take on Ummagma's 'Lama'.
Lama (Mind Movies Remix)
Sometimes the original version of a song can be so cool that you think that any remix might just destroy it… and then someone thrills your tits by creating something new from it that sucks you write in a smooches you from the first note. This is one such rework.
Horse Tears (remix)
A remix of Goldfrapp's Horse Tears. [more inside]
Lama (Dunaewsky69 Remix)
Kiev-based electronic instrumentalist Dunaewsky69 (a.k.a. Oleksandr Gladun) is one of Eastern Europe's most productive DJs. Otherwise dubbed as the "electronic pilot", his most recent EP "Termination Voice" was nominated for the Qwartz Electronic Music Award. This is his latest remix for Ummagma "Lama".
This remix is a departure from the original Ummagma version of "Lama", but hopefully you can also appreciate this remix. [more inside]
Lama (Ian Baird Remix)
A while back, Ian Baird (A*Star, Spring Clock Wonder) did an awesome remix of Telling You (T.Y. Ian Baird Remix) by SPC ECO, Dean Garcia's main musical project since leaving Curve. Fortunately, he would eventually remix our song "Lama" by our duo Ummagma. Hope you enjoy this upbeat track.
Girls, Girls, Girls (Jay-Z Remix)
Remix of Jay-Z's 'Girls, Girls, Girls'. Full album here: Reach The Throne
Mr. Rhythm Dancer
Ostensibly a mashup or remix of "Rhythm is a Dancer" by Snap! and "Mr. Vain" by Culture Beat, this is really something distinct altogether: sure, it rips off pretty much every hook in each of the two songs, but I did the instrumentation entirely from scratch and the central chorus in this song isn't directly taken from either source song. [more inside]
Zola Jesus - Trust Me [I-495 Bridge Reconstruction]
A live performance of a "reconstruction" of a Zola Jesus song performed at Sonic Circuits Broken Mic Night. [more inside]
Stories 'Bout You (pop tart remix)
Major Dundee kindly allowed me to remix his latest (rather wonderful) opus, so here it is. [more inside]
1E99 Feat. Gretchen - I'm Cool (DangerLegs Remix)
Trying to capture a Deadmau5-style beat. Discovered the vocal sample quite serendipitously and was quite surprised at how well it meshed with the existing track. I had to modify very little to make them work together - didn't even have to change the key, a nice coincidence.
Take On Me REMIX
Remix of Aha's Take On Me made by intricately, expertly, and precisely scratching a burned CD and playing it in my car's stereo and then recording that from my car speakers into GarageBand and adding "Club reverb". So turn it up! [more inside]
Blue Sky
My version of Common's new single "Blue Sky". [more inside]

Additional Small Things
I loved ianK's minimalist take on All The Small Things the other day, and I thought it'd be fun to fill it out with a bunch more acoustic instrumentation and harmony vocals. [more inside]
