I can see this on the soundtrack to a meditative sci-fi film -- like Silent Running, maybe.

I lke the friendly bloops mixed with the menacing hum. It feels like the hum is vacuuming up the bloops one by one.

The opening tone reminds me of the intro to UNKLE's Psyence Fiction. Wouldn't sound out of place in the Mass Effect soundtrack. I like it.
