Good Enough

Another cover song (you seem to respond better to those, anyway :P ), this time something as unoriginal as Evanescence (I know, all the emo kids are doing it...) Yet again, a recording from my vocal exam last week.

This song is about wanting to feel good enough for the person you love, daring to believe that the relationship is going to work, even if you're waiting for it to crash down around you, a feeling I'm sure we can all relate to. (I feel it every day, I think, "This is too good to be true, I'm bound to do something to fuck it up some time soon...")

Lovely. Don't be put off Maia if you don't get a lot of comments on uploads. MeFiMu can be very hit and miss, and it's kind of hard to work out exactly why. There are a few artists on the site who have a loyal set of "followers" whereas the rest of us have to take it as it comes. I've put stuff on here that I think is amongst my best work, and I've had very little response. You just have to shrug your shoulders and carry on regardless. So I'd advise against trying to upload stuff that you think people will like. That's a surefire way to losing your artistic identity. Believe in your talent, don't follow the pack or chase trends, and do your own thing. My basic philosophy is "No-one likes it? Fuck 'em!".

Yeah, I think a lot of people (like me) only check out metafilter music occasionally; it would be good if there was some kind of feed of latest posts on the homepage, but perhaps the whole point is that it flies slightly under the radar?

(Regardless, you have a lovely voice Maia; open & transparent (if that makes any sense).)
