Collisions

May 29, 2014 5:40 PM

Uptempo, hard-driving instrumental for synth+piano, with elements of trance and classical. First track on my Anthem of the Heart EP.

If you can manage to throw me a few bits via the Bandcamp link, I'll be enormously gratefu. If you leave a comment here, I'll be ecstatic.

"One last song before going to bed." That's what went through my mind as I clicked play.
Now, all thoughts of sleep are of course gone like the wind and I want collide with sweaty dancers all night.
Good show that dog!

Oh, this probably a complete coincidence, but your lead synth line dredged up memories from the 80's when I would dance into the late afternoon to Lil & Sussie's Oh Mama (YouTube).
So, thank you for that ticket to ride the old memory train!

Lil & Sussie's Oh Mama

Ha, that's quite a... cultural artifact. I can see the similarity in the melody, although I'd say the overall effect is somewhat different.

Over way too soon. Would have killed for a big fat breakdown with a fist-pumping-go-crazy build.

Hey, if 6+ minutes feels like it's over way too soon, at least it isn't boring. But yeah, there's actually a whole section that should have been turned into the kind of thing you're talking about... but I got impatient / lazy.

It's trance... 7-9 minutes is pretty much standard.

I WANT MORE WAVING HANDS IN THE AIR LIKE I JUST DON'T CARE PLEASE

PS really love how Fly Dog develops after the break (you looove kicks on 1 and 3 eh?:P).

Collisions is by far the best song on the EP. Not that the others suck at all, I've (back in the olden days) heard very similar stuff being played as the dreaded sun was rising outside. But Collisions is more like a 3AM everyone's rolling and the air is full of hands kinda deal. That being said, Anthem of the Mind really starts banging about halfway through--bump it up to 180bpm and you'd have instant happy hardcore.
