womankind

An ode to women featuring guitars, piano, melodica, and lap steel.
womankind
may the universe refrain
from its cruelty and disdain
when it is so inclined
may your mysteries remain
my love for you and they are intertwined
womankind
may you break out of your domain
may you exist on every plane
may you be unconfined
and may your mysteries remain
my love for you and they are intertwined
womankind
may the universe refrain
from its cruelty and disdain
when it is so inclined
may your mysteries remain
my love for you and they are intertwined
womankind
may you break out of your domain
may you exist on every plane
may you be unconfined
and may your mysteries remain
my love for you and they are intertwined

I was skeptical when I saw the words "an ode to women," but the production invokes driving around somewhere beautiful with the windshield wipers clearing off the rain so that you see the landscape every few seconds.

The beginning of this really reminds me of Sea & Cake in the best possible way. I'm pretty knocked out by this. The way you control and hold back a sincere feeling in song form is cause for celebration. Good stuff.
