Cover of The Rascals' song that was a Billboard #1 hit on the day I was born. With a bit of a nod to "The Model."
Played on my Moog and my Roland TR-606 drum machine, so it's largely analog. The clap is a sample from the 808, because the 606 doesn't have a clap. Also I chopped up the drums and split them onto different tracks because the 606 only has a single mono output. Oh and I used midi to trigger a few of the Moog basslines. And I recorded it on computer instead of a 2" 24-track tape machine. So I guess it's sort of a modern-day analog/digital hybrid. But you're listening to an mp3 of it, so really, it's entirely digital. Nevermind.

Love that snaky synth line that pops up between the verses. Fun listening, overall!

I am generally impressed with what you do, and a little jealous. This song gives me no reason to feel any differently. Nicely done.

Wait wait, we have the same birthday? Actually I guess it was a top song for a bit...

I've always had a weakness for this particular tune. You've served it well.

Love it. I've always loved The Model, especially the Snakefinger version -- working it in like this is a great tip of the hat.

Ha ha, that "Model" swipe is awesome.
My wife's #1 birthday song is the Rascals' "Groovin'" so we considered doing that one but went somewhere else instead.
It's fun hearing you being so electropop. This is really neat.

I was really, really tempted to do Du Sollst Nicht Weinen by Heintje; 1968 Germany's question to the answer that is Justin Bieber, and a song which proves that pop culture's obsession with pubescent hairstyle-boys who sing like ladies has a long and distinguished past.
Also that whole balancing on a log thing.
But I did this bizarre Swiss #1 from the same day, so that's something.
