Mostly 12 string

Razor Edged Shadows
Vaguely sinister ambient. Twelve string plus keys
Komatiite
Electronics with some guitars that really need to be re-recorded but this had already taken too much time. [more inside]
A Broken Clock on a Starlit Beach
Mostly electronic. An increasingly oppressive cloud of ambience over a basic beat.
The Very Small Starship Rises into the Clear Sky
If you listen closely the five tones from Close Encounters of the Third Kind are almost in there.
rainsleep
Very pleased with how the key change at 1:30ish, just before the synthflute comes in, worked out
Slow Cascade
Slower, shorter and synthed up version of Cascade
Terrible Realization Music for an Imaginary, Low-Budge
The usual. Perhaps slightly more menacing.
You Already Knew This
Clunky bluesy picking on a Spanish guitar for the first minute and then it opens up a lot.

More ambient guitar noodlings.
Shining Tor at Twilight
Broke my own rule and drenched this one in effects and keys. Very New Age. Not sure I approve of it.

Pissin' In The Sink
An instrumental I wrote in 2008 for my Carvin electric 12-string. I was going for a honky-tonk piano sound.
Celebrated Summer
My 12-string and I take a fingerpicking stab at the Husker Du classic. [more inside]
song for sawyer

Simple Town (Full Version)
Feisty powerpop version of the a capella song I posted for the challenge. Man, this was another freakin' difficult song to mix, not least because it was the first one I did on my Yamaha HS50m monitors which Chococat recommended. You know when you go to the bathroom in the middle of the night in a hotel and accidentally turn on the overhead fluorescents and catch yourself stark naked in the most unflattering, pore-revealing detail and sort of gasp in horror? These speakers are like that. You fight them every inch of the way, not trying to get the song sounding good, but just to stop it sound so goddamn bad. [more inside]
Don't Fool Me (Fixed Mix)
Final mix of the song I posted a couple of days ago incorporating a couple of changes suggested by uncleozzy. [more inside]
Don't Fool Me (2010 version)
Today's espresso-driven shot of melodrama power-pop. Originally written around 1995, I think I finally nailed how it was supposed to sound. [more inside]
Don't Fool Me
Full on vocal harmony twin electric 12-string assault, my attempt to collide the Monkees with the Byrds with a side of the Go-Betweens. [more inside]
