Instrumental. We used electric and nylon guitars, glockenspiel, electric bass, and a drum set [played by 2 guitarists, so don't judge]. Criticism [aside from the drums] welcome.

The first track of the night's session, which may very well become a new entry in our
An Evening With... series. This week featured special guest Luke Furman, and his wonderful array of toys/instruments, including several Ocarinas...Ocarinae? Ocar-enises?

Apologies for my absence —
again.
I will be releasing an album under the moniker
Kings Of Last Night this year, and I want to share with you an outtake, a B-side if you will, a sketch of a song that didn't make the album but deserves to be played on the internets.
That song is "Pilot", a story of aviation, extended metaphors, the fourth wall, and disaster.

On the day that I was born (in San Diego), the Archies' quintessential bubblegum pop song was a #1 hit (in England). This is a pretty straightforward version, although the guitars and bass and drums have all been replaced with marimbas and glockenspiels.

A song I wrote the lyrics for and worked up the melody and progression with the band. Me on ukulele, Jamie singing and on glockenspiel, Justin on guitar, Ella on cello, Tina hitting a a tin. This was recorded before Christmas, again not the most beautiful of recording quality but it gives you a sense of the band's fuller sound with the cello.
Any feedback or critique appreciated as always.

If not for MeFi Challenge deadlines, I might never actually finish a song. This one has only two chords (D and G). Instruments used, in order of appearance: Autoharp, marimba, marxophone, triangle, glockenspiel, and accordion.

I've posted this song here
previously, but I wanted to share the
video I made for it with the help of my lovely and talented assistant Jacob Guza. Hope you enjoy.

The new album is more or less finished, so I thought I'd offer you guys another sneak peek. A shoot-from-the-hip rock song -
Let's drink to the things that died too soon.

On a sad day last spring, our benevolent dictator
banned the
tag from Metafilter. After a night of heavy drinking I woke up in a canoe in the Andes and composed this
eulogy.
