do you ever

This track switches between three time signatures, and features an intro with a style of singing I guess one could call very vaguely eastern. It's a slow and gentle affair with softly distorted ebowed guitar, piano, and xylophone. It also includes a guitar solo in which a single note is played repeatedly. And lyrics that are pretty silly.
I wrote and recorded this probably over a year ago, but it's been sitting on my hard drive waiting for me to somehow finish it off. In the last couple of days I dusted it off and added a background vocal. I was going to add some kind of percussion beyond what's already there, but I gave up/decided I liked it as is.
In light of my recent demo postings, this is probably a good example of an overthought and overwrought recording. Still, I rather like that intro vocal performance, and how the sections flow into each other, etc. Posting it here is a way of telling my brain to move on to another song!

like you licked your plate
like when love was served you overate
do you ever need me almost so much
that when you eat from the pie
of our time it just makes you cry
