I Think I've Heard That Line Before
A slice of stompy psych-rock with plentiful tambourines and rich, undulating waves of FUZZ. I also made a video featuring my glove puppet and alter-ego Fluffy, if you want the full gesamskunstwerk 'sperience.

Psychedelica as embodied in music is not always about rowdy trippy cagey delivery and a catchy spacey or 'wow' riff…. sometimes psychedelica can drift unassumingly into the realm of melancholia, which is where this Ummagma song firmly rests. [more inside]
Visualization
Tastefully blending several genres together, including indie or alternative rock, dreampop, space rock, psychedelia, ambient and shoegaze. Sounds of Sputnik is a project producing a sound that immediately brings several associations to the surface - like dreaming, space, flight, exploration, reflection. Worth a listen whether or not you have or have not traditionally gone in the above-mentioned genres of music. [more inside]

Dandelions and Bees
Psych rock is a genre that spans worldwide, ignoring such arbitrary delineations as man-drawn borders. This song is a case in point, with Nameless (UA, Ternopil) taking the lead in this song - the only hint of the Eastern bloc here is reflected in their language. Ummagma provides the icing on the cake.
Ambiguous Sense of the Future
Post-rock always seems embedded with the sense that something is dire; however, shake it up a bit to get a kind of post-rock indie shoegaze vinaigrette and Sounds of Sputnik is likely what you would come up with. This is Ambiguous Sense of the Future.

Buffalo
Of the songs that my band recorded recently [previously 1 • 2], this is my favorite. It's also the most difficult for us to play. But that's what practice and cheap recording is for, yeah?

The Happiness of Not Having to Lift Things
This is a new piece our band, Falex9, is developing. We didn't know what to do with it lyric-wise until after we finally got a permanent rehearsal room in Seattle and realized how happy we were that we didn't have to lug our gear around anymore. The song may have a slightly deeper meaning in the future as we refine the lyrics / music. Either way, it's been a fun playing it. [more inside]
Life Through Veils
Old recording from 1990. Music Recorded live, with the middle section and ending being written extemporaneously in the studio, vocals are the only overdubs. Originally 24 track, but this was rescued from cassette, hence the crap quality. I wrote the music and the singer wrote the words and melody. I sang backup. [more inside]

Everyone's Depending on Us
I wanted to end the 23rd Century song posts on an upnote, so here ya go. This is also our Queen tribute, so be ready for my bad Brian May impersonation. Sorry for posting so much, I hope it hasn't been too irritating.
Governmentium
Another track from the new 23rd Century Album, and because you demanded it, one more song after this one.
You can DL the whole album for free from our website.
Working on the Moon
The second to last song I plan to post here, this one was intended to be fun, not work.
Thanks very much for the kind words on the previous songs, everybody!
Played Right ALong
The second song from the new 23rd Century album. This one is written by The Platypus.
Will The Moon Explode Pt 1

Purple Dinosaur
Daniel LeClair, a friend of mine, told me how much he adored his 3-year-old kid. How he understood everything the boy spoke, mumbled, shouted or coughed. The only thing he never understood, was how the boy could be in love with that purple dinosaur. I thought there was a song in there.
Recorded with another friend, Uili Damage, who did the production and sang in it. So, I wrote the song, but Uili made it sound as it does here.
Snakey
This is a song I did in 1995 with my band Verge on the album Little Idiot.
This recording is entirely the product of the studio, but we would play it live too. (We'd drag out a lot of gear that would barely function at times to do just that...)
We made this recording in the basement of my loft (at the time, sigh) in Williamsburg sometime between 1993 and 1995, sequencing it on a Mac IIci computer with no sampling or digital audio though we did record onto a digital 8-track tape recorder (remember "tape"?) so the guitar solos and voice and synth and things are pretty well as they occurred.
