This song has been stuck in my head since we walked by the (former) Waverly Theater in Greenwich Village last week.
I had to exorcise it today with some sloppy, mistake-filled guitar-playing.

Despite my lack of religion and the fact that this song has been done to death, I thought I'd give it a shot.

I know this is completely not what the challenge is but I couldn't help myself. My sincere apologies.

Written for this thing a while ago in which I had a few days to make a song with this title as the prompt and "creative use of starts and stops" as the challenge.

Here's me bashing away on our crappy piano, from this past winter.
It's a song about blindly following things.

Recorded in November, after a summer reading Peter Guralnick's awesome two-part biography,
Last Train to Memphis and

A guitar, a buzzing tube amp, a me. Some clapping.
From a new collection of songs called
Cake Dome, written and recorded entirely in the 29 days of February, 2012.
I made a video, which you can watch on
Vimeo or
YouTube.

The first completed song out of the 10 I'm supposed to have done by the end of the month for the RPM Challenge. Don't think I'm going to make it at this rate.

I made my children to sing on another Christmas song. In three-part harmony.
Merry Christmas, everybody.

More of a slow-building groove than a "song."
Probably recorded about 10 years ago, I honestly can't remember.

A riff song about using a kid's room to hide contraband.
Two tube amps, a 1970's generic-brand Japanese drum kit and some other stuff.

I entered this over at Songfight a few months ago. The song for that week had to be titled "Boron Rod." I didn't know what that was so I had to
look it up.

Cover of The Rascals' song that was a Billboard #1 hit on the day I was born. With a bit of a nod to "The Model."

A tune about an odd man who used to roam around my neighborhood as a kid. He wore a crown sometimes. Featuring
chococat on drums.

A song begun a few years ago and just recently finished. I recorded the initial acoustic guitar track last summer in the boathouse, using a condenser and also the stero mic on
my video camera. While fighting off mosquitos.

I can't stand it when a couple will fight with, swear at, humiliate or completely demean each other in front of a room of people. It happens a lot.

In the style of Leonard Cohen. Just kidding.
For the Velvet Underground challenge thing.

Another from the waste-bin of demos that never went anywhere.
Gauging from the effects unit, I'd say 1996; at least pre-1997.
