Do You Understand?
Hi there. I'm a writer/screenwriter. This is the first time I've shared my own music. It's electronic and certainly influenced by the likes of Richard H. Kirk, maybe a little Steven Reich. Samples include some famliar figures, plus Jimmy Swaggart shouting about the end times. Enjoy!

Transcontinental Airway
Another IDM travelogue inspired by the remote land arrows of the Transcontinental Airway System. Music for dancing, thinking, or especially (if you have the means) driving.
Haunted Weather
I've spent an agonizing 11 days dialing this one to perfection. Another bumper that hearkens back to my high school days, when a song couldn't possibly have enough rhythm tracks. Suitable for all your living-room silent discos.
White Alice
A bit of Four Tet meets '90s house, with a sideways glance to Laurie Anderson. Inspiration. Recorded for my new monthly subscription music project, Faulty Machine Recordings Service.
International Geophysical Year
Not a Donald Fagen cover, alas, but a moody slice of danceable IDM in the early-'90s style. Recorded for my new monthly subscription music project, Faulty Machine Recordings Service.
untitled

Mining old acoustic songs to deconstruct and add beats to. This song gutted this time.
Whimsy Will Be the End of Me
A remix of an old acoustic cover of a Slipknot song. Glitched-out and re-sampled beyond recognition.
Lama (Dunaewsky69 Remix)
Kiev-based electronic instrumentalist Dunaewsky69 (a.k.a. Oleksandr Gladun) is one of Eastern Europe's most productive DJs. Otherwise dubbed as the "electronic pilot", his most recent EP "Termination Voice" was nominated for the Qwartz Electronic Music Award. This is his latest remix for Ummagma "Lama".
This remix is a departure from the original Ummagma version of "Lama", but hopefully you can also appreciate this remix. [more inside]

Blippity blop - just a track made on my EM1, more of a snippet, really.
A High Mountain is the Ideal
More noisy electro/break bitmuxing. (beta mix)
Passing You By
More laptop electronica. Ambient/IDM production approach, but with a bit of melody and punchy beat. [more inside]

A thumpy experiment with the Crystal VST. [more inside]
Smeh
More electronic music. Takes a while (~1:00) to get off the ground, but once it does, I think it's alright.
Eye Dee Emm
Through composed melodic idm (I think?) that I'm compelled to make for some reason. [more inside]
Reflections on a Mote of Dust
I wrot ethis electronic piece after reading Pale Blue Dot by Carl Sagan. He writes on one specific photograph taken from deep space, and coins our earth a "mote of dust" in the cosmic landscape.
This piece was inspired by use of imagery in the sound design, as well as Carl Sagan's musings in Pale Blue Dot. I imagine the primary theme as particles of dust, in perpetual motion in a shaft of light. The context of these "motes" is expressed as the piece develops into increasing complexity. The mote is always there, omnipresent yet insignificant in the cloud of actvity around it.
I hope you all enjoy it

Bloom
This is a short IDM-esque style electronic piece written in the fall of 2008. I was largely inspired by the idea of Klangfarben melodie, and tried to incorporate a lot of tone colors in the piece, especially by experimenting with modulating the LFO rates of the synthesizers to different degrees to create many different "colors" of the same basic sound [more inside]
First Snows of Summer
Stuttery drums, blippy synths, lots of piano, copious crash cymbal, and a bucket load of reverb. [more inside]

The first completed track of a new Lestrade collection called Flights of Theory.
Junior
A sad little middle-eastern sounding song with lots of voices. Friends say it could be a theme for a James Bond-esque movie set in the middle east. [more inside]

Contentment
This is one of a few IDM tracks I've been working on. I really like the glitchy drumline in this, plus the 3 part melody. I would appreciate any feedback on it, as I feel this is pretty good.
A Conception Serene [rest for the wicked rmx]
The second in a series of songs i've remastered for a short [50 copy] run of my favorite tracks from 2002-2006. This one is a little more experimental and insomnia-fueled than the last one i posted, but not completely abandoning the previous emphasis on melody and atmosphere. See inside for more.
An Urgent Intimacy Awash Their Hearts
A study on electronic vs. acoustic elements, with a slant towards elementary canon-type stylings. Written and recorded on one rainy night. Recently remastered for a 'best of 2002-2006' compilation.
THINGS
This is one of my old instrumental tracker compositions. Man, I miss using trackers. I wonder if'n I can get FastTracker working on this machine. Hmmmm. I don't recall from whence the choral sample has come. But it's pretty. I know that much. (And, yeah, I wasn't really into coming up with song names at the time.)
The Geminids
Another new one from the new Ice Cream Creatures EP. Vocals with a strong beat. Love gone bad. But Love is good.
Black and White Explosion
A new track from my band, Ice Cream Creatures. sliced and diced female vocals, acoustic guitar, glitchy beats. Good for the soul.
we all have disguises (live edit)
This is a song that was done live on 6/26/2006 at an afterparty here in detroit. the venue was stucco's warehouse. Listen as my audio buffer dies at the end. A proper version will probably come out someday.
