Danny Steel - Private Eye

Workshy

An abstract and impressionistic take on the wonderful world of work. Or something like that. Whatever. Listening to it afresh from the distance of several years, I've no idea what the fuck I'm banging on about here. I was probably stoned out of my box at the time. Disgarceful behaviour for a doctor - tsk tsk. Another extract from the extensive but wholly disreputable Dundee Archive. NB: this product contains faint traces of jazz-lite.....

Tubbs' Tune (seed)

This is a modest little theme recorded (badly) way back when that could be taken by a jazz combo and used as a blowing vehicle - it could be stretched out, modulated and pulled around at will. It's no more than a sketch really - but that's all it needs to be. If there are any jazzers amongst the community who want to use it - be my guest. Dedicated to the late, great Brit saxophonist Tubby Hayes.

Suenos

Recorded a couple of years back, this was inspired by a visit to the house of the late composer Manuel De Falla in Granada, Spain (a wonderful city). At the risk of immodesty this one has some of the best "lead" acoustic guitar playing I've recorded to date. For those with no Spanish "suenos" translates as "dreams" [more inside]
