Is there such a thing that allows me to plug two things into one thing on an amp the way there is a thing that allows one to plug two headphones into one headphone slot? I keep googling things like "amp splitter" but clearly my terminology is lacking here. I want to plug in a guitar and a microphone into one input.

Hi Mefites! The company I now work for hosts music competitions and gig listings on the world wide web. We've got one contest lined up right now that actually could pay well and be a pretty cool career boost too so I thought it'd be appropriate to broadcast to this community, even though it does cost money to sign up for our site (10-12$/month) So far we haven't actually had too many appropriate entries so anyone who sends one in has a decent shot at the contest picking them! ...with apologies for getting that song in your head. Or NOT because it is FREAKING AWESOME. [more inside]

After nearly ten years my band Red On Strike is calling it quits. Our singer Yvonne has been building a new career and just hasn't had time to be in a band - without her it isn't ROS, so it is time to move on. Kind of bittersweet for me, as this is my first band so I am going to really miss it. But it is also an opportunity to work on something new, which is pretty exciting. We're forming a new band with our bass player Steve and his stepson Levi on guitar with me, so if you know a drummer or vocalist in the LA area let me know. [more inside]

My wife and I are hoping to cover Astrud Gilberto's standard/classic "Dreamer" (see All Music Guide entry here), and while I think I could probably work out the chords for myself if I ever had time, time has been in short supply and recently I've been looking unsuccessfully for sheet music or a fake book or chord charts for the song. Do any of my fellow MeFites have any tips on where I might be able to track down the chords to this classic Bossa Nova tune?

Yes, friends, sorry to have to report that, due to his exasperation with certain perceived trends at Metafilter, one of Metafilter Music's most dedicated contributors and a former Supreme Overlord of the MeFiMu Challenge has disabled his account. I just found out about it via his Facebook page. Those interested in following his musical activities are directed to his Soundcloud.
