Dream Sequence
Abstract and minimal electronic piece. Inspired by movies like Manhunter and Tenebrae.
Warning - beginning is quiet by comparison. [more inside]
Chainletter
Two Step
A 24 hour noise number. Not for the faint of heart. [more inside]
I Never Want To Go Home
Another semi-anthemic dance song about dancing with a girl! [more inside]
Hasta Cielo
I'm back from South America for a little bit, so I have an urge to play with my electronic toys. [more inside]
Idl
Glitchy, semi-improvised piece with disjointed synths and samples.
Smallbeat
A simple synth/house song (my first actually), created with the Korg Kaossilator and some distortion effects.

what goes on in those dark rooms
Six layers of sound, created completely from scratch in the Operator soft synth, sent through a filter delayed return track
Cindy and Steve
Dance beats and synth hooks underscore the classic breakup story of two digital lovers in Computer Land.
the factory produces mortar shells
My first foray into generative music; bass drone with four layers of percussion on top
(This Is) The Dream Of Matt And Harriett
A song about my favorite failed Aaron Sorkin show.
My good friend Jessica sings Harriett's part.
Three In The Morning
I've been on a roll the last couple days - here's a cute little synthy doo-wop song I just finished! [more inside]
we knew he was out there
muffled, glitchy beats in five layers [more inside]
Beaches
5:17pm on Ipanema Beach... [more inside]
Teens In Love In Space
Title inspired by a friend's idea for a new comic book. An ultra-happy electro love-fest with all the fixings... handclaps, warm synth pads, uplifting key changes, sparkly arps. Enjoy!
Spin Dash
A high-octane, in-your-face synth-strumental. Funky synth bass catapults into swirling portamento melodies and a punchy 5-part harmony in the chorus. Sonic the Hedgehog samples add to the fun.
Synthoween
Made in FL Studio in about 40 minutes, in response to a friend's last-minute request for a silly halloween song to play on her radio show. Though I really didn't intend on it, the intro sort of sounds like the intro to the Ghostbusters theme... with scream samples.
Trust (v2)
A polished up, broken down, mangled, different version of the song I posted a few days ago, and this time it's kind of complete. Criticism welcome & encouraged!
Trust
Japonisme (1)
I took an old 45rpm of a Japanese folk song and started dropping the needle. Took those bits, sliced 'em up and moved 'em around a little, then added some synth and electric piano, some udu and guiro. Et voila! Le Japonisme!
1988
a blast from the past
Underwater
Water as escapism.
燃えろいい女 (Moero Ii Onna)
Another Saladabar song. This is a rough mix of a song we were asked to cover for a compilation of 80s Japanese rock songs. [more inside]
Your Turn
A breakbeat/big beat spy song -- one part Propellerheads ripoff, one part Space Ghost nonsense. [more inside]
Grendel
Sort of strived for emotional content with this one. If the first part is asking questions, the second is not liking the answers.
Generic synth arpeggios
I uploaded this to share with friends. It's really not much right now - just some straightforward arpeggios that anyone with a Korg and 5 minutes can do. The chord progressions are definitely usable, though they've both been done to death.
phasic
Patterns playing across each other. Introspection sliding into dreamy psychosis, never quite waking.
aregone
L5 crash and burn [more inside]
Meander
A slow drift through a procedural forrest.
Make it True
Influenced by Afro-pop. Voice, percussion, and a little guitar. [more inside]

Upon finding yourself floating pleasantly in a canoe, you are launched into orbit. Alas.
The sky was filled with rainbows
A little synthetic ditty for FAWM'06.
Unquantize
Sunset, wind over water, autumn into winter. [more inside]
Cement floats.
Thanks for the Add (demo)
A dancey pop kinda thing. I finished all the recording and rough mixes for my next album so I'm starting to enjoy making music again. Also: trying to be less of a perfectionist so I maybe don't go bonkers.
Unstress
Stressed out? Listen to this healing song and follow it's prescription to the letter! [more inside]
Synchro2
ambient alien drone music [more inside]
Happy As Fuck
This is an old song and a personal song. Its basic premise fits quite nicely with my life, thus making it relatively personal. Marginally complex vocals around an easy-to-follow framework, written while afraid of the leaving of an ex of four years past. [more inside]
Zedox
Since everybody's submitting instrumentals lately, I guess I'll post another one. Synth groove. [more inside]
Undercurrent
I found an entry-level Yamaha synth in my friend's basement. The dials were stuck on 80's. [more inside]
Freedom Tape
A simple, melancholy electro instrumental that I recorded a couple of years ago. Percussion ideas came from various hip-hop sources; the melody is my own. I use it as background music during a spoken-word segment of my live shows. [more inside]
Crossing Over
A short poem spoken with keyboard, percussion, and guitar
Darkness falls in the middle of the day,
We look to the sky and lord we pray,
Darkness grows near,
And all those who are dear,
Floods the lands with tears,
Not a moment to soon,
For all men are destin for doom,
Come cross over, All are welcome
ripples
Only tangentially related to the theme of the challenge, but my testing audience thought the song sounded like ripples, and that seemed like enough (plus it motivated me to finish sooner than I might have!).
