Sky Flows
Sampled a slack guitar to create a kind of organ-sound. [more inside]
Metafilter Podcast Theme - Daft Punk version
Somehow the idea of doing an alternate podcast theme riffing on Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger got into my head a while a go, and here it is. [more inside]
I, I, I
Trying some further electronic stuff.

The Golden Age (Beck cover)
A synthed out, vocoded take on Beck's extremely non-synthy song off of Sea Change, as an excuse to fiddle around with Reason 8. [more inside]
Nostalgia
This one has maybe the most tracks of any song I've ever made. [more inside]

Not sure how to describe this one, but I sampled a lot of disparate stuff and used some found sound I have.
Antisocial Dance Party
Dancing is for squares. [more inside]
Low (Irradiated Happy House Remix)
[Radioactive] remix of Low, by Juicy J (feat. Young Thug + Nicki Minaj), sequenced with that earwormy single by Envisage Komodos: If you can't get a radio single out of your head, turn it into a happy house track and put Juicy J on it. I used a clean version to make it enjoyable for all. Complete with filter sweeps and a half-time dubstep outro.
untitled
The vastness of making electronic music is really overwhelming to me, so I'm trying to just get over that and create some things.

Changing the Guard
A fast tempo is ceremonially relieved by a slow tempo
10 Seconds of Static
Bridge to Nowhere
You can feel the beat rising, incrementally, step by step. Melody, chorus, melody, chorus... The air clears. It's that part in the song that builds and builds to it's highest point and then [more inside]

Line of Life (Ummagma Remix)
When you conceive of how many tracks go into creating a song and visualize them, row upon row stacked upon one another on the computer screen of the producer's studio, it's mind boggling how it could ever come together in perfect symmetry, especially if the tracks are not laid down at the same time. This is the story of one remix. This is Huge Shark 'Line of Life (Ummagma Remix)'. Trans-continental electro dreamscape. [more inside]
Freq Wreck
Short, rhythmic, jazzy
You Can Too
Slow-build, lotsasynths, silly sounds

Chinook
distant sounds: slow, forward-moving, reminiscent; warm ambient winds + tumbling bass
Lama
When synth and guitar blend with electronica and vocals that are not too up-front in the mix, but not totally phased out to be lost in the mix, often some really nice sound is what can happen. At least that is what we think happened here with this track. [more inside]
Make You Feel That Way
Blackalicious remix. Video.
Thumbing for a Ride
A short little trip
Lama (Mind Movies Remix)
So much music, so little time. Even in the mind of the remixer, likely that expression would sound something like "So many remix options, so little time"… which is why we're lucky there are so many different great remixers in this world (yes, there certainly are a lot of terrible ones too)… But here we have a wonderful remix by Brazil's Mind Movies of Ummagma's track 'Lama'. Certainly do hope you will enjoy this vision too.
Loudspeakers
Different synths, different arps, different drums

A mix of cultures often results in something beautiful - interesting art, world views, beautiful babies and intriguing music. And you don't have to be from either of those cultures to appreciate how wonderful this can be. This song represents a melange of two cultural infusions - from Canada and Ukraine. This is Ummagma. Enjoy. [more inside]
Man with a Beard
Ever hear a sound that falls and rises at the same time? This is NOT a song that captures the feel of No Shave November. [more inside]

Visualization
Everybody likes music for partying mode, but what happens afterwards? This song would be the perfect accompaniment for the comedown afterwards (and even the hangover). Chill, centered, reflective, harmonious. I think :) [more inside]

International ARPort: arpeggiating synths, warm pads, slow dubby drums
Lama (Ian Baird Remix)
Words can only be twisted so many ways, but the same words can sound to a host of melodies. That's what happens when you dabble in the world of remixes too, such as this one by Ummagma. Really impressed with the transformation from the original track. [more inside]
Lion King Hustle feat. Lil Wayne
Dancing Alone
Late night drinking and making music. It's not so much dancing as it is thrashing around and breaking things, but to each his own. [more inside]
Mystery Intergalactic Radio Burst Detected
A fun composite/mishmash of song ideas (and some narration) originally created in response to a sound track idea request for an eccentric little animation a friend of mine was trying to get going. Not sure if the animation will ever come about but here is what I put together for it.
You Might Remember When We Performed, For Example
Slow-moving classic sound, rolling rhythms, resonant percussive synth, all awash in a sea of reverb
Dark Patterns
This is a free internet single from the new album my wife Lori and I are working on as Tangemeenie. It was inspired by a discussion I found here on MetaFilter. Lyrics under the fold. [more inside]
Middle Domino
Sounds a bit like early 00's electronica, e.g., Idioteque + Sigur Ros, with prominent sampling from a traditional Indonesian tune.
Beat Heroes Die Too Soon
Another acoustic guitar, piano and vocal sample-based song.

The Road to Lees
Imagine if you could depict a season through music. This track would be somewhere between the blossoming bliss of spring and the hazy threshold of summer, when you are just itching to dance your butt off. This is indietronic.
Ka Lemah
gamelan-inspired track
Paperweight
Mining old acoustic songs to deconstruct and add beats to. This song gutted this time.
asunder - Kent (For T1)
This is the first in a series of songs I've written for or about ex boyfriends. Darkish trance to start, followed by some 4am hands-in-the-air synths. [more inside]
Collisions
Uptempo, hard-driving instrumental for synth+piano, with elements of trance and classical. First track on my Anthem of the Heart EP. [more inside]
Whimsy Will Be the End of Me
A remix of an old acoustic cover of a Slipknot song. Glitched-out and re-sampled beyond recognition.
River Town (Mind Movies Remix)
The vocals from the original version of River Town are scaled back and quite a few new dynamics added, but this remix embodies the same dreaminess as the source version nevertheless. This is virtually a rework more than a remix in any case.
