What's in it: a sad, simple little guitar / vocals song.
LDR in Space, or Interstellar Song
A brief, ridiculous tune about space travel.
js theme
Another quick 'jazz' tune recorded during the week.
oh
a fair shot at breaking a months-long gap between self-recordings
number four
the fourth song effort in my album month efforts. an excellent example of my need to stop making dense songs and fill out that thirty minutes.
everything's a sign of you

number two or song for kevin
first bit of my late-start album month album
Sandy River Belle
Another quick rendition of a traditional tune on the banjo.
Old Joe Clark
A quick rendition of the traditional tune on an Enoch banjo with a touch of guitar.
Out
Getting back into the flow of some bedroom recording on a Sunday.
Greyhound Fears
The second song I recorded after this one.
The Loss That I Made For Myself
A new instrumental song. [more inside]

A quick song after a very long day, and the first song to end up in the pristine new pages of my new notebook.
Con
Another sketch of a song.
Summer Home
Another quick composition, in the vein of blues or something. [more inside]
Lies
Another impromptu song. [more inside]
BY
A song that I wrote really quickly and got stuck in my head for a few days. [more inside]
Youth II
April 23
A rendering of a theme, to start thinking about what it could be in a song. Kind of happy.
Lowlands Away
A version of a traditional shanty song, recorded mono with a guitar. [more inside]
My Sister the Giant
I'm doing an album this month, and this is the first thing I've recorded for it. I think the album will be mostly or completely instrumental, but we'll see. [more inside]
Architect
Another song off of my EP. It's usually the last song we played at shows, and the longest and loudest. [more inside]
Youth
New song, kind of a spur of the moment thing. I think this is pop, and that's cool with me.
Why
Came up with this song yesterday, and I sort of like it. A departure. [more inside]
Sift
Kind of a break from recording and re-recording songs to be played live this year, this is kind of a folksy, reverb and acoustic-heavy, simple and short composition. Harmonizing my vocals is such a bummer lately, since it reveals how limited one's range is... [more inside]
Horn
A new version of a song I came up with this year. This is a lot like how it will sound live. Hopefully it'll get even funkier. (disclaimer: used to be called "The Porn Song")
Intro (version)
A new version of a song I had a couple of months ago. Kind of an OCD version.
cc'ed
Another acoustic, instrumental tune. This is the first track I've made in GarageBand (my Ubuntu machine died hard last week).
Go Home Metronome
An exhausting afternoon called for extensive multitracking and math-rocking minus the thinking part. [more inside]
Chester v3
First mix of fer-realz recording of one of my songs: Chester. Per my last AskMefi post, please critique it! [more inside]
Tell Yourself
I suppose this is the equivalent of my last yay new instrument song. Banjo, 'lectric guitar, 'lectric drums, singin. [more inside]
Hopscotch
A laptop-demo of a song that I'm doing currently live solo + live with a band. This version if solo + looped, so it's one take, but I'm looking to record it for real pretty soon - so please, I beseech you for constructive criticism! Gracias!

This is the reaction to my constant enthusiasm about music theory: I strung up my first guitar, a 3/4 size steel-string classical, with a mismatch of electric guitar strings, and tuned it BF#BBBD#. Then just played whatever. It made for an entertaining spring break and a kind of 'endearing' song.
Chester
This is the intro to a song my band has played live a few times. Live, I do it with loops, although it's not quite this developed. This is another Pro Tools experiment, thanks to the wonderful Swem Library Media Center.
Hopeful Hopeful
A big ol' composition kind of song. Just a little bit like "post-rock" I guess. As before but this time with multiple takes, stereo, and fun little stuff scattered all around. It's also my first project using Logic Pro, which seems to rock
Three
Based off of 'Diagram' - which, I think, I've posted. Sort of a different structure. First time I've used distortion for a while. The second half is for delay pedal enthusiasts.
80x80
A song that sort of reminded me of the 80s but really isn't very 80s. Again, just an idea, not a whole production. Please, any criticism or suggestions are totally welcome. Thanks!
Chordish Song
Another song I've recorded this summer, guitar, voice, phrase sampler (you can hear the click triggering the chorus here). As always, critique, etc - I'm totally open to suggestions and ideas as far as where (and whether) to develop these ideas
Hopeful Hopeful
It's my usual setup - bedroom recording, loop pedal + Telecaster. This is my more recent sort of loop song, and it has more of a jazzy feel. I run the Tele through a compressor before the loop, too. Yeah, this one's a little long, but I just really, really like it. I recorded it a few minutes ago and was just so happy with how it turned out (I had no idea what it would be) that I'm done for tonight.
Chivalry
The second recording of my first visit to my school's media center. It's a song idea that I've been toying with for a long, long time. It's in 7/4... if you like that sort of thing.
Trucker's Lullabye
The title pretty much sums this one up. Recorded at 2am or so with my lovely tele.
Class
Unusual music, make with a ukulele, acoustic guitar, and bass, in one shot. Using a MagicStomp as a (very rudimentary) phrase sampler, and Audacity to record. Enjoy
