A preview of a single we're releasing in a few weeks' time.
December's release from Sredni Vashtar, staying with the slow, epic, moody sound for the time being.
The latest release from our band. A sort of woozy, after hours lament for something lost.
A change of pace. [more inside]
In the grand tradition of posting the same song multiple times, here's the final version of Adrenaline Hangover (previously, previouslier)
A stompy, Floyd-y thing with downbeat lyrics that hopefully end on a note of optimism.
In the grand tradition of posting all our releases here, I present our latest track, Riding Out. As always, this is a song that has floated around for a few years (even surfacing on MeFi music in a much rawer form just over five years ago). Now we've done a version we're really happy with. More music here - thanks for listening.
The evolution of a song. How a shimmering instrumental evolved... [more inside]
We're trying to release a song a month this year and are kicking things off with 'Ten'. [more inside]
A song that dates back many years and many arrangements. [more inside]
What a difference (or not) six years makes. 'A New Flame' is, well, a new version of our earlier song, simply entitled 'Flame'. [more inside]
This one clatters along at a breakneck pace. Recorded about four years but I just felt the urge to throw a bit more guitar into the mix. Sredni Vashtar is a three piece that gigs occasionally in South London.
Another fuzzy, rather lo-fi outing for Sredni Vashtar... [more inside]
So a few months I uploaded the original demo of this song, lamenting that we'd never get close to its character. [more inside]
This is a funny one - a collective demo that I suspect will always sound far, far better than any band recording we manage to cobble together. As the band's guitarist it burns a little bit to not have played or written a single note of this, but I can't argue with the end result.
Not a cover of the Faith No More song. Oh no. [more inside]
We're cheating slightly, as I've already uploaded a version of this song. But hopefully everyone will agree that it sounds a whole lot better. Plus we've added some (discrete) synth parts and have even gone to the trouble of making a video. More tunes on our Soundcloud.
The road trip song - a galloping guitar ramble underpinned by soaring synth strings. By Sredni Vashtar
Inspired by the Adam Curtis documentary, recorded with a variety of gear and 'mastered' using LANDR.
What a difference a few months makes. The original has been reworked and extended and was recorded live a few days ago on the London stage (the Alleycat in Denmark Street). A song by Sredni Vashtar.
Short and sweet. A song about aeroplanes overhead with minimal vocals. Live rehearsal recording by Sredni Vashtar
We made an EP.... here's the title track. Featuring Sredni Vashtar's usual swirls and loops and noises, it was one of four songs recorded and mixed late last summer in South London [more inside]
We finally got around to re-recording White Light Music Night. The original version is here. [more inside]
Here's a song that was posted a couple years ago of but is now all shiny and new and properly recorded. [more inside]
After spending a few years rehearsing and making rough and ready demos, Sredni Vashtar finally made it into a real studio last month. Here's one of them - the mix is still a bit rough so it works best on headphones. [more inside]
Listen, a song by Sredni Vashtar. Recorded, as usual, at rehearsal. The loop drones throughout and the guitar and bass are sparse and simple.
Here's an old song from Sredni Vashtar, revamped, restructured and recorded at rehearsal a few weeks ago [more inside]
'8 billion pounds is rising from the ground'. A song about the city. [more inside]
Noisy, swirly rock song recorded at our band rehearsal a few weeks ago. Apologies for the bum notes and obvious errors. [more inside]
A semi-instrumental song given a second life after a decade in the demo wilderness. [more inside]
Spacey indie rock, recorded in rehearsal by our band, radiateur. [more inside]
