I recently recorded this soundtrack for the short "Inhumane". I have linked the video below if watching the finished product is more your speed. let me know what you think.
Featuring Carlos Najar on guitar and your homeboy carrotadventure on synths and drum machine. In this upbeat improv jam I am playing the Roland GAIA synth for chords and the Korg Monologue for bass. Also operating the Roland TR-8 for beats.
From the new Yabra EP!
A psuedo-guitar-like ambient song performed on modular synthesizer. This is the third track on my new release Nereus, available on Bandcamp. [more inside]
I've always known "Black and White" as a fiddle rag, but it turns out it was composed for piano in 1908. When I was a kid, it was one of about a dozen tunes my dad and I played together (over, and over, and over) with him on guitar and me on fiddle. In a total coincidence (no, really) my band decided to record it for our upcoming album “High on the Hog”. I never played it quite like that with my dad, but looking back it's fun to imagine I was practicing for this. [more inside]
A short improvisation for polyphonic synthesizer and 16-step sequencer
Guitar solo. Been listening to some Red House Painters.
Deep and brooding delays and saturated distortion galore with epic resolve. [more inside]
Short recording of me playing the chorus of "Auld Lang Syne" on bar chimes. Bonus background vocals by crickets outside. Total running time: 51 seconds. Happy new year, MeFi! [more inside]
Another tune from the Black Ox project a friend and I wrote and recorded.
This is a piece I recorded for a silent short comprised of Public Domain footage from 1936 taken from the Prelinger Archives. let me know if you'd like me to share the video.
A piece I wrote and recorded with a friend as part of an instrumental post-rock project.
Impossible Bookings is a collaboration I kinda sorta foisted upon cicadaverse, who initially posted the instrumental version of this track 6 months ago. I put words to what he'd created, we each reworked what we had into shorter form, he remixed my vocals and added to the instrumentation...then life happened to us both. We caught up recently after a few months off, remastered it, and called it good. [more inside]
A little finger style Elvis Medley. As slow as I could manage.
A short instrumental piece (featuring synth) in which I basically have fun building from a loop. This is my entry for the MeFi Music challenge to submit music inspired by a MeFi post (I Saw This Thing On The Blue And...). Credit actually goes to three MetaFilter-related posts from last month: two MeFi posts by not_on_display and one MeFi Music post by ignignokt; they inspired me to create electronic music again after a decade+ hiatus. This is an organically assembled doodle recorded to test a Ubuntu Studio laptop conversion. [more inside]
Long time no tunes! A simple tune on the classical guitar, sketched out after my daily struggle to learn Chopin & Satie songs. Birds, for interest.
Short bouncy instrumental [more inside]
instrumental guitar rock. A bit of messy improv guitar on the quiet parts...
An old recording from the cassette 4 track days, newly rediscovered. Pretty poor recording which I have tried to clean up as much as possible here. [more inside]
All rock instrumental...no vocals... [more inside]
This was running through my head in the shower this morning. Instead of forgetting it like I usually do, I actually sat down and wrote it.

Instrumental w/guitar solo Feat. Sam Ferguson - drums
In the past couple of weeks, I found myself going back to a piece that I'd started working on a few years ago -- probably because it's in a slower triple meter that's somewhat calming for me. This is a condensed one-minute version, featuring piano and guitar, for the 60 Seconds and Under #2 MeFi Music Challenge. [more inside]
I felt like destroying something so I destroyed this tune.
I song I wrote in up-state new-york. Instrumental guitar as is often the case...
Some synth experiment from the vault...2nd half goes more analog...
Spun off an old Brian Eno song, "Zawinul/Lava". [more inside]
Continue to vent my frustrations of daily life through hard rocking guitar for now... [more inside]
Not my usual Genre but this fit my mood tonight. Just heavy guitar rock instrumental at heart...
Just some techno-sounding non-sense I was playing with...
Last episode (or is it? see below for details) of Creature Of Habit. [more inside]
Just wrote this tonight...just your average guitar melodrama...
Just an experiment of guitar electronic fusion I've been playing with. I'm planning on doing an album-full of these types of songs soon.
Spent the last year learning to program and had no time for music. Finally got a job and a new-ish life so I thought it's time to get back to some things I enjoy. This one is different from my normal thing though I suppose I'v'e always had an attraction to analog merging with electronic. Maybe thanks to new order/joy division??? Though this doesn't sound anything like those.
Song four from Creature Of Habit. [more inside]
Part three of the serial instrumental, Creature Of Habit. [more inside]
Short acoustic guitar instrumental I came up with last night. Recorded into my phone in two parts: main part & random notes added part (for spice).
Guitar instrumental. Some slide. GarageBand on the drums.
This track is part of a project that heavily features Swamp XT, a virtual synthesizer by one H. G. Fortune. Working playlist title is "Succubus/Incubus", but I'm looking for other ideas. [more inside]
Finally finished my latest project, VOIDBREAKER. Ominous space synths, gritty breakbeats and a consciously gritty production. This is the fourth track from the EP just released on Spotify. [more inside]
So I took my Jazzmaster to Lefkas, and this was the result. [more inside]
It was snowing and what better to do than mess with the arpeggiator? [more inside]
I just loaded up Ubuntu Studio with some soft synths, and recorded this CarrotAdventure-inspired piece. It came out sounding like a game show theme, hence the name. [more inside]
Piano solo. This opens none too gently at about 138bpm and covers a lot of territory inside three minutes. It should flow nicely into its companion piece, Turquoise Migration. [more inside]
Another noodl-ey instrumental - the ingredients of this one are a guitar driving a synthesizer and a multiFX over a bed of soft-synths and drum emulator(s).
A short instrumental I wrote on the bass in 1989, but never got around to recording until now. This is song #1 in my series "Unu Kanto Po Semajno" where I plan to record approximately one song per week during 2016. This song covers the period January 1 through January 8.
noodling around and playing with a guitar synthesizer and effects.
